Holy Healing bad for Undead Minions
Just finished a Oro run and Bonder Monk, suggested I switch my secondary to Mesmer, (from Monk) and use Arcane Echo with Blood of the Master to heal minions. He said Heal Area is Holy spell and therefore does less healing to my Undead Minions and is counterproductive, that's why i can't keep a large army alive. Is that true? Have no trouble keeping large army alive as long as I'm not constantly having to play catch up with Tank thats running ahead and not giving me sufficient time to use V.S., BotM, and H.A.

Healing spells do just as much healing to minions as anyone else with no negative effects.

Heal Area is even better, since you sac. no life for it and at level 10 it heals just as good as Botm at 16, also, HA is a good self heal.

A heal is a heal is a heal. There is no truth to the rumor that Monk spells increase degen on minions, heals less, or is somehow less effective then the necro heals.

over time it appears that way, but its only beciuse the longer you keep the minions up the faster they degen, but that isnt a by product of the healing, justthier lifespan
in short, he was not correct

Every 20 seconds your minions health degeneration increases by 1 pip.
Just as players, their max degen is 10 Health pips.

From reading on guildwiki, it says that minions start degenerating by -20 after 25 seconds. Like kkla said, minions are subjected to constant health degeneration. No matter what healing spell you use, HEAL AREA or BLOOD OF THE MASTER, after a while, minions do start to degenerate faster. Minions should be constantly working, heheh, to make the most of their lives. There are some 5-man parties who often boot me out because i use HEAL AREA for minions tho :S

But luckily for me, it doesnt happen anymore, just before, like a month ago, that i would get booted out for using HEAL AREA on my minions. Even when we're already outside, and past the first group. They see me use HEAL AREA, they're like: WTF? And they just run back into town and boot me out.
Bleh, not like it happens anymore, so its all good
On my SF runs, i meet more people who dont think Holy Healing is bad for minions. But then again, the undead is extremely weak against holy damage, so i dont know if it also applies for all other holy spells. Nevertheless, i still use HEAL AREA on SF runs and it still works good for me.

I understand heal area when you are a low lvl MM who doesn't have Verata's Sac or BotM, but it just doesn't seem practicle to have that skill and spread your att to use it later on. If you need a self heal you can always use Blood Renewal and be able to have att in blood to use Offering of Blood. it's usually pretty safe to rely on a monk to heal your saccing since the damage your minions take should counter the damage your party would take if they weren't there.
As far as healing your MM, I have a guildie that uses Archane Echo with Verata's sac and BotM. He uses OoB as his elite, but I there are other options that would work fine if you put more att in SR instead of blood like Echo.

Yes, Blood Magic is very good with MM but I believe that you can spread you points over Reaping, Blood, and Healing without too much pressure. If you need to have HA anyway (no Monk can bring it, for example). Also, you can always use higher level runes with MM, since a Dark Bond solves any damage taking issues.

I got n/me with energy tap and leech signet I usually nvr run into problems many people say my build is horrible well poo on them!
